Memorial Day Madness...

We had a fabulous Memorial Weekend.  Our dear friends, the Glenns and the Rasbands, who we knew from Philadeliphia came down for the long weekend and we did it all......

There was surfing...

 surf lessons...

 beach time....

cannons...

  silly pictures...

hiking...
sunsets....

jumping....

and more..........

I wish I could take credit for the video, but Justin and Mike put it together.
I did help out with the music selection.

As Ethan would say at the end of a story, clearly we had a great Memorial Weekend.

We have a graduate....

Mckay is our latest graduate.  On his last day of school we got to enjoy a wonderful singing performance by McKay and his classmates at Hearts to Heart PIP preschool that was too adorable.  Thought I would share a short clip.

McKay attended a parent involvement preschool, so I worked in his classroom every Friday and I got to know all the children really well, as well as their parents.  A part of me felt like I was graduating with his little Explorer class.  It was truly a rewarding experience for me to be part of McKay's preschool life and I was able to create special memories with him at preschool.  I also loved getting to know the other parents while working together in the classroom and participating in a parent education class once a week.  I feel so grateful that I already have a built in network of friends before Mckay starts kindergarten.  Not to mention that McKay has been fully prepared to start kindergarten.  He gained so much from the preschool academically, spiritually, and socially.  He was exposed to so many wonderful learning opportunities while having a fabulous time.  We are so grateful to Mrs. Hardwick for her dedication to the school and all the time and energy she put into building and uniting the children as well as their families.

So on the last day of school the children and their families got to enjoy a fun carnival.  There was a cookie walk, fishing booth, donut bite, ring toss, pin the nose on the clown,  and face painting.  A good time was had by all.  When that was finished the kids then got to go swimming at the pool nearby.  McKay had the best time.  He took home lots of fun prizes including 2 goldfish that he helped pick out.

McKay and Ethan were so excited about the fish that they decided to feed the fish some pieces of roll when I wasn't looking, and unfortunately our little "goldie" and "littlie" lasted only 7 short hours at home.  They were very loved.

I am so grateful McKay could start his academic, social, and spiritual learning in such a positive and fun environment.  I know it will be an important building block for him as he continues to have lifelong learning experiences.  So I guess this graduating is celebrating all that he has accomplished so far and encouraging him to continue with his growth and development for the next stage of life he is entering.  I look forward to it all.  I love you McKay.
